What is Talpa?

Talpa is a new search tool that helps you find books and media using a mix of AI and trusted book data. For instance, Talpa answers questions like “what is that fiction book on zombies adapted from a classic” and can even find books by their color or what’s on the cover!

You can try search terms such as:

• Book on power with a red cover.
• Anne Frank book with a cartoon on the cover.
• A story about a Japanese bookshop.

Here’s how it works:

• AI Queries: Talpa uses advanced AI to search for books and other media, making sure each item is accurate by cross-referencing it with trustworthy bibliographic data.
• Natural-Language Understanding: It also uses AI to understand your search queries in everyday language. For instance, if you search for “novels about World War II in France,” it finds relevant books using tags, subjects, and character data.
• No Made-Up Books: Unlike chatting with regular AI models, Talpa only shows real books verified against its vast store of reliable data.
  Cover Search: Talpa can even help you find books by their cover design.
