How to Reserve a Physical Pass for Pickup:

  • Choose the specific day you are visiting the museum.
  • Review the reservation; make sure the museum and date you are going to the museum are correct.
  • Confirm reservation.
  • Visit the owning library on the date of the reservation to check out the physical pass with your library card.
  • Present the pass and your Delaware Library card for admission to the museum.
  • Return the physical pass to the owning library by the end of the loan period.

Loan periods for passes vary and are specified for each museum. For physical passes, the loan period includes the days the pass is to be picked up and dropped off. (e.g., if a pass is reserved for Monday, you must pick it up that day).

One museum pass may be borrowed per library card at a time. You may reserve up to 4 passes per library card within a 60 day period. In addition, only one pass per household may be checked out at a time. In fairness to others, one pass for a specific museum can be reserved within a 60 day period.
Passes must be picked up at the owning library on the date for which you reserved the pass. Failure to pick up a pass on its reserved date may result in a cancellation. (e.g., if you requested a pass for Monday, the pass must be picked up that Monday). *In the event of an unexpected library closure, patrons may pick up their pass the following day. Please note: In this instance, due dates will not be extended.*
The patron who submitted the request must present their Delaware Library card to the library staff. Failure to do so may result in a cancelled reservation. Once you have checked the pass out, you will have to book a timed entry slot with the museum directly.
Physical passes must be returned to the owning library on the due date, no later than 1 hour before closing. Passes may NOT be returned in the book or audio drops. There is no need to return a print on demand pass.
The owning library will negotiate fees if physical passes are not returned on time. After 10 days late, passes will be assumed lost and will be assessed at the replacement rate determined by each individual museum. If a patron returns a pass late on more than 3 occasions in a calendar year, they may be ineligible to borrow future passes.

Museum Pass

Museum Pass Policy:

The Museum pass program is available to adult Delaware Library cardholders (18 years+). All pass reservations are processed through the MuseumKey link which can be found on the library’s website under the services tab. Patrons can access the page from home or in the library to reserve passes. Patrons are responsible for calling museums for hours of operation. Please note that each museum pass has its own admission rules. A museum pass reservation represents a commitment by the patron to abide by the library’s museum pass policy.
